I have noticed that often times members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, when forced to reckon with the issue of homosexuality, get confused by the arguments being placed before them. There are those who do not understand so they turn away from discussion surrounding the topic. Some are simply non-confrontational who do not like to feel the contention that is sometimes brought on by debate. Others are afraid, worried that they might lose their testimony, or some simply choose to put it out of their minds deciding that they just don’t know the answer.
It is important that as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we are certain of the truth concerning homosexuality. I believe that we will see this issue grow larger with time. Members of the church will be forced to make their decision about it and will have a responsibility to stand up for what they know is right.
